Pterostylis williamsonii (Brown-lip greenhood)

Pterostylis williamsonii (Brown-lip greenhood) is one of three multi-flowered winter-flowering greeenhoods which look very similar. The most obvious difference is the colour of the labellum. Williamsonii has a chocolate brown labellum while Pt melegramma has a light brown labellum with a dark brown stripe and Pt stenochila has a green labellum.

The images of each of the three orchids below shows the different labellum colouring

The brown-lip greenhood is widely distributed in the South-East and East of Tasmania and favours light woodland in grassy and healthy locations. Flowers from late June to September.
