Caladenia gracilis

Small caladenia quite widespread in Southern and Eastern Tasmania. 1 to 4 flowers on a wiry, slender scape up to 24 cm tall. White to pinkish internally and green-brown to pinkish externally.

Found in light eucalyptus woodlands, open dry slopes among low sparse scrub. The images below were taken at the Waterworks in the second week in November 2020 where it occurs in a number of localized sites. It’s quite common on the hills around the Waterworks and the ridge between the Waterworks and Huon road. It flowers here after Cal atrata and Cal cracens have started but the three may flower at the same time. Oct – Nov flowering.
