CYRTOSTYLIS ROBUSTA (Large gnat orchid)

Cyrtostylis robusta (Large Gnat Orchid) is quite uncommon. Its found at South Arm, a few locations in the NE and NW/West coast and King Island. It seems to prefer sandy soil in the shade of Shee-oaks and tucked away under low vegetation. The leaves are round or oval, ground-hugging and bright green with lighter green veins.

The Large Gnat Orchid flowers during winter from May to August. The images below were taken 16 July and 25 June 20231 at South Arm.
