Prasophyllum alpinum

A summer-flowering Leek orchid which is relatively common in alpine locations, often in association with cushion plants.

The plants shown here were seen near the summit of Mt Wellington/Kunanyi at the end of January 2022 and mid-feb 2026 ( a late season in SE Tas). The plants were either growing on cushion plants(Abrotenela foresteroides) or close by, on exposed sites at about 1200 M. Some flowers were fading, having been fertilsed and now commencing to set seeds
