Pheladenia deformis (Blue Fairies)

Phleadelia Deformis (Blue Fairies) is the only species in the genius. It was until recently classified as a member of the Caladenia genus.

Quite difficult to find it occurs occasionally on the East and South East Coast, Midlands and Flinders Island. Flowering period is from August to October . The specimens below were photographed late September and early October. This colony in the foothills of Mt Wellington is on an open very sunny North-facing grassy slope on mudstone.
