Prasophyllum (Leek Orchids)

There is a relatively large number of species in the Prasophyllum genus (common name, Leek orchids) in Tasmania with some 30 different species identified. Flower spikes carry numerous flowers and appear in Spring and summer. Some species are dependent on fire and so may be scarce in its absence. Classification can be difficult as can locating specimens at times, due to the sometimes very local nature of their distribution. The identifications are mine and cannot be relied upon as completely accurate in all cases.
