Lyperanthus suaveolens “Brown Beaks”

Lyperanthus suaveolens, aptly names “Brown Beaks” occur in heathland and open eucalyptus forest in the South, East and North East of Tasmania. Said to be common, my experience is that they are not often seen. The images below were taken some Km inland from Margate on the road verge and Coles Bay. Around Hobart they are reported from Ridgeway and Waterworks .

Flowering times are reported from August to November with a flush in September and October. These images are from mid-September.
